Myth 1: We don't want beauty tips or products
For some reason, the fashion and beauty industry has left older women behind. They do this under the guise of claiming we no longer want beauty tips or products.
Most of the beauty industry creates products based on the skin of 20-year-olds.
Older women want and deserve beauty tips and products made for them!
The end result: clumpy, messy mascara. And that's not the goal. Instead, pull the mascara wand out of the tube. Scrape the additional mascara off using the side or a tissue so that your brush is not overloaded.
When you do this, you add air to the tube, thus drying out your mascara. Think of it like blowing over wet paint - the additional air dries out the color.

Pick the proper mascara
As we age, our lashes tend to appear thinner. The once-long lashes now feel broken and brittle. It's not in your head - this is a fact many of us are facing.
The immediate thought may be, "Buy lengthening mascara." Think again!
Myth #2: It's too late for sunscreen
Have heard you only need to worry about sunscreen when you are younger? Skin damage happens at any age, and cumulative damage occurs from consistent sun exposure.
When we protect our skin from the sun's powerful UVA and UVB rays, our skin has a chance to heal.
Find a skincare company formulated around aging women. Their ingredients help repair sunspots, wrinkles, dehydration, and other issues unique to women in their 50s, 60s, 70s, and above.
Combine that with protection from a high-quality sunscreen like Vibriance Sheer Zinc Sunscreen. You have the power to protect your skin daily. Don't let the sun have its way with you! It's never too late for sunscreen!
Prevent Clumps
We know - obvious, right?
Not so much. How typical is it to push your mascara wand in and out of the bottle, trying to load up the brush?
Or, similarly, wiggle it inside the tube to gather mascara onto the wand?

Myth #3: We don't shop online
Since when don't we shop online? If anything, even if we were hesitant about shopping online in the past, the pandemic showed us the ease of online shopping.
Whether through Amazon, grocery shopping, wish lists for our grandkids, or beauty products… online shopping is a new way of life.
Many of us don't love going to crowded malls or waiting in line at the grocery store when we can pick up or have it delivered to our house.
Add some mascara. Then move the brush toward the middle of your lashes, and apply the mascara.
Finally, add mascara to the base of your lashes. Apply a final coat from the base to the top, allowing the brush to separate the lashes. This method may not work for you, but some Positive Agers swear by its results!

It's not in your head - this is a fact many of us are facing.
The immediate thought may be, "Buy lengthening mascara." Think again!
Reach instead for a volumizing mascara like Vibriance Volumizing Mascara. It defines without weighing down the ends of our lashes.
The last thing we need is to add extra length to our eyelashes, pulling down our lids and risking additional breakage.
Tip: wiggle the brush on your lashes as you apply your mascara. You give your lashes a more even coat.
Myth #4: Dry skin is the root cause of wrinkles
Most of the time, wrinkles and lines are due to sun damage, and only around 20% are because of frowning or smiling. As we age, our skin is more prone to dry out.
However, dry skin is not the root cause of wrinkles. Dehydrated skin emphasizes fine lines, making them appear more profound.
We can fight this natural phenomenon. Drink water throughout the day, reduce caffeine, get plenty of sleep, and use serums and moisturizers for skin repair.
Because it is a smaller area, we can control it to push up your corner lashes, giving both lift and volume.
Look for products specifically for aging women, such as Super C Serum and Moisturizing Cream. By properly caring for our skin, we can decrease the appearance of our wrinkles.
If you over-mascara your bottom lashes, you may deliver a droopy impression.
Yet, we know some of us also want to give the bottom lashes love. Instead of swiping mascara on your lashes, dab it on. Keep it minimal for an awake look.
Positive Aging is about doing it your way!
Consider a backwards application
Most of us start at the base of our lashes and up the lash line. Try starting backward!
Looking down your nose, start at the tips of your lashes.
Use the whole brush
Did you know the tip of the brush works as an excellent applicator for the corner lashes?
We often try to manipulate our angle to make the middle of the wand hit our corner lashes. Instead of that, use the tip of the brush.
Because it is a smaller area, we can control it to push up your corner lashes, giving both lift and volume.
Myth #5: There is no need for unique products for aging skin
As we age, our skin changes. When we were younger, we poured on astringent and washed with Noxema, and it didn't significantly affect our skin's softness.
If anything, it dried up the oils and helped control some of our teenage acne flair-ups.
But as mature women with skin that has naturally lost some of its oil, the very last thing we need to do is soak up oils or wash with harsh products!
We need to attack the dryness that comes with menopause and aging. Using retinol, hyaluronic acid, and peptides specifically for stimulating collagen help aging skin. Vibriance Retinol Serum and Super C Serum fit the bill.
Don’t overdo the bottom
The last thing we want is to let our mascara give our eyes the impression of exhaustion by highlighting dark circles.
Overpowering your bottom lashes risks this illusion. If you over-mascara your bottom lashes, you may deliver a droopy impression.
Yet, we know some of us also want to give the bottom lashes love. Instead of swiping mascara on your lashes, dab it on.
Keep it minimal for an awake look. Positive Aging is about doing it your way!
Storing your Mascara
If your mascara is less the showstopper than it once was, ask yourself how long you have had your bottle.
Mascara is good for six months if stored properly. Keep it away from extreme moisture and heat for longer-lasting use.
So, as much as that quick application in the car is helpful, ensure you don't leave your tube sitting in the hot car.
Finally, store your bottle upright versus laying flat in the drawer, where the formula will flatten out and dry faster.
Bonus Tips
●Wet the lashes for a smoother application
●Use a smudged liner on your bottom lashes instead of mascara
●Add extra coats of mascara for a fuller look
●Use a slightly warmed cooler on your lashes before mascara. Be careful not to burn your lashes or eyes.
●Lay off daily mascara to allow your lashes a break
●Try a magnifying mirror for ease of application
●Remove mascara nightly to prevent breakage and to look less tired in the morning

Myth #6: Older women can't wear shimmer
Sparkle is for more than just the under-50 crowd. First off - let's throw away your rule book. If you like it, wear it. I love shimmer and add it to choice places.
Using Illuminate, I dash iridescent sparkle to the tip of my nose, collarbones, brow bone, inside corners of my eyes, and sometimes, right underneath my eye.
This slight glimmer catches the light and draws attention to where I want.
The center of the eyelids tends to be the spot with the least folds, so if you want to highlight your eyelid, try there! A little shimmer takes away from staring at an evening of sleeplessness. Shine on, Ladies!
Myth #7: We can change your pore sizes
Our pore sizes are well set and have been since we left puberty. That doesn't mean they don't get clogged and appear larger than they are!
One of the beautiful things about using Exfoliating Facial Scrub is your ability to remove dead skin from your face.
Pairing that with Retinol Serum (not on the same day) allows more capacity to slough off the dead skin and work on replacing it with new cells. Your poor pores can finally shrink back down to their natural size.
Don't believe everything you hear
Just because your best friend from grade school swears by a beauty secret doesn't mean it is true. Many of our strongest beliefs are rumors passed along through the telephone game.
The truth may be mixed up amid good intentions. Your face will tell you what to believe. It shows when you take care of your skin, mind, and body.
Do what makes your heart feel glee and forget the rest. Live by your rules - despite what myths you hear about beauty.
The most beautiful people are those who stay true to themselves. So here is to busting the beauty myths! Cheers to Positive Aging!
