During the warmer months you always make sure your feet look their best as they display your blinged-out footwear.  But during the cold months, it’s easy to lose track of your feet as they hibernate in socks and boots.

Whether it’s Summer or Fall, Winter or Spring…

During the warmer months you always make sure your feet look their best as they display your blinged-out footwear.  But during the cold months, it’s easy to lose track of your feet as they hibernate in socks and boots.

Whether it’s Summer or Fall, Winter or Spring…

Did you know that keeping your feet happy and healthy all year round is as easy as 1-2-3?

Step #1 Boost Circulation!

Keep the blood flowing for healthy feet.  Make it a daily routine to get up and move - stretching, walking, leg lifts - any activity that elevates the heart-rate to increase circulation.

Other tips include:

  • Avoid wearing tight socks or pants!
  • Don’t sit with legs crossed for long periods of time!
  • Eat fruits and vegetables!

Step #2 Wear Good Shoes!

A good shoe is important to support and stabilize your feet.  A properly fitted shoe helps to avoid foot pain, and it aligns your feet, ankles, knees, hips and back to improve posture.  Some tips for buying a good pair of shoes:

  • Shop in the afternoon because your feet will expand during the day from use.
  • Wear socks you’ll normally wear with those shoes.
  • Have a professional measure both feet and buy a size that is comfortable for each foot separately.
  • Be sure the shoe provides the right arch support and that it cradles the foot, providing support on all sides, including the ankle area.
  • Make sure the soles are sturdy enough to protect from sharp objects, are slip-resistant, and weatherproof.

Your feet contain over 50 reflex pressure points which influence almost every part of your body.  From your brain… to every major organ… to your joints and knees, there are health benefits you can experience simply from getting a good foot massage along with apply some reflexology techniques.

Talk about an amazing state of relaxation!  Here are 5 quick techniques you can use on yourself or someone else.  Mix and match to find what works best for you.

  • Warm up / Cool down twists.  This is a great way to start and end the foot massage.  Start by placing your palms on either side of the foot.  Next gently pull the right side of the foot forward, while pushing the left side back.  Then reverse it - pull the left side forward, while pushing the right side back.  Repeat this twisting motion, working the hands from the ankle to the toes.

  • Toe Bends.  This method encourages flexibility in the foot.  To start, hold the heel in one hand.  With the other, bend all the toes on one foot back and forth at the same time.  Repeat this movement while gently increasing the amount of pressure and mobility you are applying.

  • Fist Rub.  A superior method for massaging the bottom of your foot.  Start by holding the back of the foot with one hand.  With the other handle, make a fist with a dominant knuckle out and apply it against the bottom of the foot.  Knead the foot using moderate pressure.  Repeat this motion working from the ball to the heel of your foot.

  • Instep pressure points.  Start by supporting the top of the foot in one hand.  Use the thumb of the other hand to press and release the top of the instep.  Gradually move down the instep, repeating the pressing motion.  Continue down the foot to the heel.

  • Massage circles.  Using both hands, support the foot from below.  Start with the ankle and use your fingers to gently rub in a circular motion around the ankle on either side.  Then continue massaging in a circular motion around the side, the top … all the way to the toes.  Just keep moving your fingers in a circular motion

BONUS!  Foot bath & Scrub

After a nice massage or a long day out, a foot bath and scrub is the perfect way to end things.  Find your comfy chair.  Grab your basin, salt scrub, soft towel and lotion.

Let’s get started!

Boil water and add ½ cup of fine sea salt or Epsom salt to dissolve.  Once the water is warm to the touch, add to your basin and begin soaking your feet.  Sit back and relax as the salt and warm water work their magic.

After about 15-20 minutes, pull one foot at a time from the basin to exfoliate dead skin.  Using a good scrub, gently rub in circular motions around your toes, heels, bottom, sides and tops of your feet.  When done, rinse with warm water.  And pat dry with a soft towel.

For a DIY scrub, you can use 1 cup of fine sea salt combined with 1 cup of olive oil or coconut oil.

Follow up with a good moisturizing serum.  We recommend you use Vibriance’s Age Defying Body Serum.  This skincare serum is good for the entire body from the neck down and contains trademarked ingredients usually reserved for high end facial serums. It targets crepey, thin, rough, dry, sagging, and wrinkled skin.

Or you might like to try Vibriance Dream Sleep Body Cream.  This rich and fluffy full-body moisturizing cream is formulated with natural ingredients that promote calmness and relaxation. Use it before you go to sleep or any time you want to unwind and pamper your skin.

Love your feet, and they will love you back for a lifetime!
